Peaches For FREE...

Peaches for free, peaches for me! We picked our peaches this weekend. They are to small to do much with but eat. They may be small, but each one is two bites of heaven. It took me 1, 1/2 hours to peal and cut enough peaches for two pies. Jim made his best two pies ever! And for anyone who has had a piece of one of Jim's homemade pies knows that PIE FIXES EVERYTHING!

Spoiled Rotten...

Who is more spoiled?

Cole thinks so...so what!

I never fall for extras at the grocery store! So who knows what possessed me to buy 2 plants there. Maybe I was just in the holiday spirit. The above is some kind of mum and I payed $3.95 for. Cole says I payed $3.95 too much! He thinks it is the most pathetic thing he had ever seen. I had to explain to him why it appealed to me. The red, white, and blue for one. He says there is no such thing as a blue flower. I said, "They are spray painted." He said," Why are they missing pedals. " I said,"They aren't missing pedals. That's the kind of mum they are. They are suppose to look like fireworks." And he just laughed! The plant below is a peace plant and I thought it was appropriate for the holidays. (And I know from experience they are hard to kill- low light and water once a week) It is quite large and I think I paid $9.99 for it. What do you think? Did I get ripped off? Cole thinks so.Cole thinks so...

Yum...Olive Garden...

I went to my friend, Sally's, birthday luncheon at Paige's favorite restaurant, Olive Garden, or not! We make the excuse to go out on everyone's birthday. Quite a few women showed up and it was fun to visit with everyone.I had salad and soup. Talking about salads I went to TGIFridays with my friend Christine the day before. I had a fresh strawberry and grilled chicken salad. I think it was the best salad I've ever had. It had balsamic vinegar and pecans and was just the right size. I will be returning there! Back to the photo, I actually made this bag and tags to put a bracelet in I bought for her. I told you I'd use my new craft room!

3 GREATS!

We had GREAT friends Gwen and Pace, come and stay with us last week end. They are moving here to attend school and needed to secure their housing. After finding a GREAT house (but sadly, not in our ward) they said their goodbyes and left us with these GREAT and beautiful flowers. One of Paige's and my favorite flowers are gerber daisies. And of course you can never go wrong with the color pink.

The Big, Bad, Coyote!

Jordan came running in the house yelling, "Papa, see my coyote!" When he got close enough for us to see, we couldn't help but laugh. That's the scariest coyote we ever saw!

Sparklers!

Give a kid a sparkler and they don't know they missed the fireworks! (And we didn't have to fight traffic, roman candles, or mosquitoes.) I still remember drawing my name in the air with a sparkler!

Yum, yum, yum.....

The 4th on Broadway is good for music, funnel cakes, kettle popcorn, and mint chocolate dip n' dots. And that was all for me but, yum, it sure tasted good!

Alex is so funny!

Alex thought she would be funny and changed our message board. She put up an old picture of Jim and I when we participated in a youth activity. We disguised our identities by switching roles. The kids couldn't look at us for several days. No one ever recognized me but they did recognize Jim. (He couldn't walk in high heels!) I was irritated with her when I saw this picture with the caption. (I think the caption words should be switched.)

The Original Pancho and Rito...

Will the real Pancho and Rito please stand up! I was sorting old pictures and came across this picture. Can you guess which one is Pancho and which one is Rito?

Yummy Mints......

You'll be proud of me Paige! I finally put my Cricut to good use and made these little purse favors for Young Women's. We had a princess party and it turned out great! Gr Cole made your favorite daisy mints and I put them in the purses. I promised I saved you what was left over in the freezer but, you'll have to come and get them. For everyone else, you'll have to make your own!

Grandma Cole's Mints

8oz cream cheese 2 Tbls butter
peppermint extract butter flavoring
confectioners' sugar (abt 2-1/2 bags)

Mix together cream cheese, butter, peppermint, and flavoring. Add confectioners' sugar until mixture becomes stiff. Dip mold in granulated sugar and mold.

Can't wait...

We wear bracelets to remind us of the sacrifice Geoff makes everyday for all of us. We special ordered them from InOurHearts.org .We will never be able to express how much we appreciate what he does for his family and country. God bless all of the men and women in the military and may He bring them home safely! Can't wait till you get home Geoff!

Look and Find...

I finally finished my "fairy house!" I told you getting organized would help. I decorated it in a "look and find" fashion. I will give the grand kids a list of things to look for and will see if they can find them. A few of the things will include; a locket and key, a bird, a real pearl, a village, a birdhouse, 2 frogs, a snake, and etc...

Can you see one of the fairies?
