A Bunch of Pregnant Ladies :)

I have to say this was the best baby shower ever! My friend Ella and I had a baby shower for all the women we knew who were at least expecting their 2nd baby. Of course my own Shaunna (one in green and white striped) and her own Tera (one in green with white sleeves) were there. We had one newly delivered baby boy with three boys and four girls on the way! (Someone wondered if it was legal to have seven pregnant women in the same room.) There was lots of laughs, games, fighting over prizes, gifts, decorations, and most importantly we had enough chocolate and bathrooms! The only challenging part was getting them in and out of their chairs.
It turned out to be FUN, FUN, FUN! Now that's what I would call "One Perfect Day".

Whitestrips and old age...

It all started when my hubby , Jim, lost -or forgot where he put his whitestrips. After he had looked for them for some time I decided to be nice and find them for him (as you know, we women have the right chromosome for finding things) After searching the not so obvious places (namely dumpster diving) and having no luck, but finding a good blouse of mine! (and no one is fessing up to having thrown it away!) HE actually found the strips in an obvious place. Who would have thought of looking in the bathroom? I exclaimed to Jim, "Don't do this to me! I'm planning on your memory to get us through our golden years!" (I've already lost mine!) So he came up with a great idea and decided to tape the strips to his arm. He was really proud of the solution he came up with until Alex introduced the thought: what if, he forgot he had taped them to his arm!? Drat! Getting older isn't always what it's cracked up to be! ( Actually, I think I'm the one who put the strips up in the first place! What a novel idea!)

The dress...

At age five Santa brought Alex a "Look Alike" doll with matching dresses. No matter how much begging and pleading I did I couldn't get Alex to put on the matching dress. (I'm SURE it cost the elves a lot of money to make those matching dresses!) But it never happened. So they got tucked away for a better day. Well, eleven years later (this xmas) when cleaning out a trunk I found the doll and dresses. I said, "Oh, Alex! Look! I found your doll and matching dresses! What a beautiful dress, I suppose I could give it to Kelsi to wear! (I just know she would LOVE it! Especially how much it cost those elves to make it!) Well, Alex said, "Are you kidding me! That was the biggest, ugliest, pilgrim dress I'd ever seen! In fact it is so big I bet it would STILL fit me!" Then she disappeared and showed up a few minutes later with the dress on and it did fit. FINALLY! She is wearing the dress! I can get pictures! I've been waiting eleven long years! Maybe she really liked it after all! (you know the cost and everything!) But my enthusiasm was short lived when Cole came walking in the house and said, "That is the sickest thing I've ever seen!" Oh well, guess I'll tuck it away for a better day!

Visiting grandkids...

Three of the best guys I know! Paige can you see that Parker is still wearing his "Favorite Aunt and Uncle" t-shirt you made him. Although, I don't know for how long. When he finished eating he was covered with splatters of pizza sauce. Remember the time we went to a favorite restaurant in Dallas and I lectured all of you on the "Martha Stewart Proper Way" to eat spaghetti with sauce. Then after leaving the restaurant and walking out into the sun we were all shocked (I most of all!) to see that my white blouse was covered with splatterings of sauce. (maybe Parker also saw the "MSPW" to eat sauce!)

I wish i could sleep this well! Maybe after I take a daily dose of meds. And I don't think I would fit very well on papa's lap, although I wouldn't mind trying! Brayden looks just like a cherub, don't you think! Oh, if only they would stay this young and cuddly. (and always asleep, of course!)

I couldn't resist pulling out my camera. Those grandkids are so darn cute! (and their papa too!) Paige and Alex do you recognise the blouse Kelsi has on? Both of you wore it. I paid too much for it to give up and so it has been passed to the next generation. And she loves it! We ate at Jason's Deli the night before and brought home a "to go box" not a "doggie bag" - I get confused as to which it is and it seems like one of my kids is always around to correct me. (Well sometimes I do give it to the dog!) We put the box (or bag) in the fridge and Joel kept making trips to the fridge for that cold and yummy pizza until it was gone. Except he did not eat the crusts. So buried somewhere deep in that fridge is a box (or bag) of crusts! Mmmmmmmm

Our Hero

The kids wanted write a special message to Geoff and this is what they came up with. They drew and colored it themselves. (We still have chalk on our driveway.) Joel tells his daddy, "I love you as much as a paintbrush to the 5th power!" And Jordan is saying, "Wow! The 5th power?" They had WAY too much fun that day! By the end of the day they were so dirty it took more than one bath to get them clean.

I heard Geoff was telling the photographer to hurry up and take the picture before the sandstorm moved in on him. I don't know why he was complaining. After all he is from West
Texas. He should feel right at home.
